We have so many hummingbirds, one of them had to sit still for a moment. At this time of year, I use 25 lbs. of sugar a week for the nectar! They are hungry!
Thank you. I just learned that hummingbirds have tiny bristles on their tongue that open to collect nectar, then flatten to trap the nectar when they withdraw the tongue from the flower or feeder (Smithsonian Magazine). Pretty cool.
